Closing the Year With Gratitude, Growth & A Gentle Invitation Outdoors
As we wrap up 2025, our hearts at ART GARDEN DESIGN are full. This year has been a whirlwind—one marked by bold projects, deep collaboration, and the kind of beauty that grows from care, craftsmanship, and intention.

We have had the privilege of building some truly remarkable luxury outdoor spaces—places where stone, wood, planting, and the natural ecology come together to form living sanctuaries. Each project this year challenged us to design with a higher level of sensitivity: to balance form with function, aesthetics with ecology, and the client’s dreams with the spirit of the land.

One of our proudest milestones was embarking on a transformative new chapter of landscape construction. This year we completed 4 Early Childhood Development Center outdoor natural playspaces in San Francisco—spaces designed to spark imagination, curiosity, and connection for the littlest members of our communities. These projects pushed us to think not just about plants and material, but about how children experience the world—how they learn through texture, shape, sound, and sensory exploration.

Every member of our team poured their heart into these builds. The result is a collection of landscapes that are not only beautiful, but enduring—places that will grow, evolve, and continue to support those who use them for many years to come.

For all of this, and for you, our clients and community, we feel immense gratitude.

Finding Peace & Play Outside This Winter
Even in the colder months, the outdoors has a way of grounding us, softening the edges of stress, and reconnecting us to what matters. Winter doesn’t need to pull you indoors—it simply invites you to engage differently.

Here are a few small, meaningful ways to step outside and reset:

  1. Take a 5-Minute Weeding Break
When the house feels full or the holiday energy runs high, slip outside for just five minutes. The soil is moist this time of year, and weeds come out easily. It’s a tiny task that brings surprising satisfaction—a breath of fresh air, a small win, and a moment to connect with the earth without committing to a full gardening day.
  2. Create Nature-Made Holiday Decor
Gather branches, sticks, and twigs from the garden and weave them into simple wreaths or sculptural decorations. It’s sustainable, personal, and far more meaningful than anything plastic that will end up in a landfill come January. Handmade pieces carry story, place, and heart.
  3. Plant Winter Bulbs For A Spring Surprise
Purchase a few bulbs—daffodils, tulips, muscari—and tuck them into your beds or containers. Add small name tags or markers if you like, then forget about them. Spring will remind you. Few things match the joy of seeing those first bursts of color after months of quiet soil.

A Little Science: Why Fresh Air Heals
A 2024 study from the American Psychological Association found that just 30 minutes of fresh air a day can dramatically increase mental clarity, lower anxiety, and even improve the quality of our relationships by helping us regulate emotions more effectively. Stepping outside—whether for a walk, a task, or a moment of stillness in the garden—gives the mind a reset button we often forget we have.

A Closing Thought for the Year
As this year winds down, we invite you to reconnect with the spark that makes you uniquely you. Your taste. Your vision. Your way of shaping the world around you. Explore it. Celebrate it. And, if you feel brave—share it with the people you love and the strangers who may need that reminder too.

Thank you for trusting us with your homes, your spaces, your play areas, and your dreams. It has been an honor to create with you.

Wishing you a peaceful close to 2025 and a season filled with warmth, beauty, and inspiration.

With gratitude,
The ART GARDEN DESIGN Team
