A Gardener’s Dream Landscape

A Gardener’s Dream Landscape

This landscape project began with two problems: (1) how to deal with the property’s drainage issues and (2) how to reduce the intense sun and heat in the summer time.  The solution: A meditative pathway with Fantasy boulders, Japanese maples, and layers of texture plantings.  At the lowest part of the property, drainage was rerouted through three tiers of planting to slow the storm-water runoff, and an old cracked pool was converted into a perennial habitat garden with stone seat wall and a curved trellis for shade.  The hardscape is surrounded by colorful Clematis, evergreen and deciduous trees, and a color pallet of blooms and foliage purple, blue, and chartreuse.
