MULTIPLE OUTDOOR ROOMS

This landscape design and install is one of my favorites. We took a boring flat lot and turned it into a multidimensional space that could be used by two different families living on the property. The outdoor kitchen, which is used frequently by professional chefs, is covered with a redwood pergola, brass gutter and brass rain-chain that collects into an underground basin and rain garden planting along the side fence. The bar was made from a locally harvest Redwood tree our team took down, milled on site, sanded and sealed for this location. The rest of the garden is filled with hardy plants that provide seasonal interest, an outdoor vegetable garden for farm to table, main patio with seating and fire pit, and small quiet nook for intimate conversations and butterfly watching. A light sandstone paver was used to brighten the space and soften the dark bold colors of the main house. And a small meandering pathway wraps around the backyard allow access for picking a variety of fruit trees from Asian pears to pomegranates.
