An abandon 1930s home built into natural bedrock went under a new renovation. The landscape design completely transformed and expanded the backyard. Upper kitchen steps out to slate patio, down custom designed and installed metal framed stairway with heat ash treads, onto a 2 tierr patio. The retaining walls around the upper outdoor kitchen patio reused the existing boulders and stone from the site, maintaining the history and adding masonry charm. The outdoor kitchen counter top was polished concrete set with grill, drawers, sink, fridge and custom metal framed arbor to match the upper stair case and rails. The lower patio is enclosed with antique brick mirroring the Spanish architecture of the home with a sunken outdoor fire pit and stone masonry curved seat. Full outdoor lighting design illuminates the space making it adaptable for intimate gathering or large social events.
